Varekamp Coldstores is constantly evolving: as an organisation, operationally, in terms of the services and information it provides, and in terms of its supporting facilities.

Size of company

Varekamp Coldstores' business premises extend over 11,000 m2. Our 18 docks and refrigerated shipping area of 2,500 m2 enable us to quickly unload, cross-dock and load.

Coldstores

Varekamp Coldstores has 7,000 pallet positions; each pallet position has its own location barcode.
In each of our 26 coldstores the temperature (-3 to + 20^OC), circulation, ventilation and humidity can be set individually. A section of our stores is equipped with floor heating to meet specific product requirements during refrigerated storage. Our coldstores vary in size from 96 to 420 pallet positions per room.
Single, dual and triple layer storage guarantees that the pallets are always easy to reach, enabling us to quickly respond to your needs and those of your quality controllers.
A number of our rooms are equipped with modern push-back racks making any contact with pallets limited and efficient.

Special facilities

At the end of 2009, Varekamp Coldstores built a special sorting area, segregated, with a view towards delivering quality and uniformity. This is how we ensure discretion and contribute to your market position.
Products that are (too) moist can be dried quickly in our special drying chamber. This helps sustain the quality of the product during storage.
Varekamp Coldstores uses forced cooling to quickly bring products down to the desired (storage) temperature.

Quality

While you focus on your commercial activities, Varekamp Coldstores focuses on the quality of your order. Our employees look after your products, food safety, our service delivery and sustainability.

Varekamp Coldstores has the certificates BRC Storage & Distribution and IFS Logistic including HACCP, which are required by chain stores. Full traceability - a legal requirement that Varekamp Coldstores fully meets - is needed, among others for chain stores.

Varekamp Coldstores is also Skal certified for the storage and repackaging of organic products, including the necessary paperwork. Since becoming active in this field, the volume of organic products we process has steadily increased.

Varekamp Coldstores is for its customers and Customs a reliable partner in all aspects according to the certificate AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) for Customs simplification and Security.
The AEO certificate provides many benefits in international trade and is a major plus for customers and relations.
